BCG Associates Receive APG Recognition

The Board for Certification of Genealogists extends its congratulations to Board-certified genealogists Richard G. Sayre, CG®, CGL℠, FUGA, Mary Kircher Roddy, CG®, and Amy E. K. Arner, CG®, for their recent recognition by the Association of Professional Genealogists at the APG Annual Meeting and Awards Presentation. As announced by APG,

Rick Sayre, CG®, CGL℠, FUGA, was presented with the Laura G. Prescott Award for Exemplary Service to Professional Genealogy. This award recognizes services to the field of professional genealogy, exemplary professionalism, and continuing encouragement to other professional genealogists. Sayre is an incredibly generous teacher and mentor whose contributions to the genealogy world have been many. He has coordinated courses and taught regularly at major genealogy institutes and has positively affected the lives and careers of many genealogists.

Mary Kircher Roddy, CG®, was selected as the winner of the Kathleen W. Hinckley Professional Achievement Award. This award highlights a record of exceptional professional achievement with contributions to the field of genealogy through individual excellence and ethical behavior. Roddy is a dedicated professional genealogist, speaker, and writer, who served as APG Treasurer for four years and is currently a member of the Board of Trustees of the Board for Certification of Genealogists. She is a founding member of the Applied Genealogy Institute, a frequent speaker at national conferences, co-editor of the National Genealogical Society Quarterly, and a popular webinar presenter.”
